My advice to current medical students would be: To see and do as
much as you can. I still remember patients that I saw with a particular
disease in those early days. I also found it helpful to go and read and
learn as much as I could about those diseases, and putting a face and
clinical experience with it made it that much more memorable long
term. Also, never turn down a situation to learn “hands-on.”
