Conflict, having served as a search
and rescue physician, as well as the
physician for the Blue Angels during the
last nine months of his military career.
Dr. Piatt served as a Family Practice
physician in Woodsfield for 35 years
and as Monroe County Coroner for
more than 25 years.
’65 Joseph Henry Banks, MD, 77,
died Oct. 25, 2015. Dr. Banks was a
pediatrician at Northwest Pediatrics in
Columbus from 1970 through 2012. He
was also a consultant to the Columbus
Developmental Center from 1971-
1981, and was on the medical staff of
Nationwide Children’s Hospital, having
served as chief of staff when it was
Columbus Children’s Hospital.
’66 Thomas Nims, MD, 74, died Nov.
7, 2015. He was drafted into the U.S.
Army and worked in a field hospital in
South Vietnam. After his military service,
he completed a two-year fellowship in
Surgical Oncology at Sloan-Kettering
Memorial Hospital in New York City.
He later specialized in breast cancer
treatment in Columbus. He retired from
practice in 2007.
’66 Michael Ravitch, MD, 74, died Jan.
12, 2016. Michael was a leader in the
southern Nevada medical community
and a longtime Boulder City resident.
